5 Things That Make You Feel it's Christmas

You're mind tells you it's December and in a few days Christmas day would be here, however you really don't feel the Christmas season like you used to when you were a child. What are the five things that make you feel it's Christmas?

Number one for me would be the obvious choice, the Christmas tree. I usually put it up by November just to make the house more Christmas-y. But the tree alone doesn't cut it. So probably a more appropriate answer would be the Christmas decorations (which does include the tree, wreaths and other Christmas decor like the lights).

Second would be castaƱas or better known as chestnuts. They usually sell them only around Christmas season and I buy bags of these stuff. Sometimes I get bad ones but I try to remember the places which sells good ones and buy from them again.

Gifts would be number three. When these babies arrive and you know you have to reciprocate you definitely know and feel it's Christmas.

At home Christmas is a big eating event. Mom would prepare a huge meal most often prepared days before and most often than not have practice runs. Weeks before Christmas there would be trial runs of the meal. For example this year we're having turkey and so far mom has practiced cooking this already once. She's trying again this weekend just to be sure she got it right. So number four for me would be the presence of lots and lots of food... or having big special meals every weekend.

Finally, five would come later than the rest. When I start to hear Christmas songs, whether I hear them on the radio or being sung by the kids from the street, it definitely begins to feel a lot like Christmas!
